The GDWC 2024 Winter Season Finalists are here!
First round of jury reviews are done and we have the list of Finalists for all categories of GDWC 2024 Winter Season!

This year we're introducing more games into the finals than ever before, with each category getting 10 to 20 Finalists. The GDWC Jury will now playtest and review the Finalists in the second judging round through February to score and rank the games and conclude on the Winners and Runner-ups in each category.

The GDWC 2024 Winter Season is now open for submissions!

All categories are open for games released after December 31st 2023 or that are still in development, unless otherwise stated in the category page itself. Submissions are open until December 31st 2024 23:59:59 Finnish time (EET / UTC+2).

This season's categories:
- Best Indie Game Award presented with Xsolla Funding for all commercial games by smaller teams
- Best Web3 Game Award presented with Sequence for all games using Web3 tech
- Proceduralism Award presented with Houdini for best of of procedural generation + a bonus prize for best use of Houdini
- Best Studio Game Award for all commercial games by larger teams
- Best Hobby Game Award for all non-commercial games
- Best Mobile Game Award for all mobile games
- Best Student Game Award for all student game projects

Submissions are open until end of May and Winners will be announced in late Summer / early Autumn 2024. Games still in development and games released after May 31st 2023 are eligible to participate. Participating is free as always.

Winter Season Participation
GDWC 2023 Winter Season is closed for submissions and was again record-breaking season. This was our second half-year long season in GDWC history and we had over 1900 submissions beating previous season's, 2023 Summer, 1800+ submissions.

Judging in process
Judging is currently in process and due to this the submissions and game updates have been frozen. They will open up again soon once next season opens. Due to amount of game submissions we won't be able to provide direct feedback or situation updates to all participants. We will directly reach out to Finalists in early February.

The Winter Season will be closed to submissions on Sunday, December 31st 2023 at 23:59:59 EET / UTC+2. So there's less than two weeks left to submit your game, and now's the final chance to compete for the biggest prize pool in the GDWC history.
